Our Governance

Albany UU is governed by its members, using democratic processes.  At our annual meeting in the spring, we elect officers and approve a congregational budget.  Significant questions, such as choosing to become a sanctuary congregation, are also put to congregational vote at the annual or special meetings.

Our Mission

We welcome everyone. Our Unitarian Universalist community seeks truth and deeper meaning, pursues justice through inspired action, and cultivates compassion and love for all connected by the web of life.

Our Bylaws

In order to vote at a congregational meeting, you must become a member [link to Become A Member page].

Committees and elected councils support the operation, activities, and management of the congregation so that it can further the mission and vision of the congregation.

Our congregation voluntarily chooses to join with more than 1000 other UU congregations in the Unitarian Universalist Association. We appoint delegates to the UUA General Assembly who elect UUA officers and vote on association business and statements on issues of social justice.

Albany UU is also a member of the Hudson Mohawk Unitarian Universalists, a cluster of 5 Unitarian Universalist congregations in the Capital Region and Hudson River Valley.
